A while ago we wrote a blog about the Manhattan Beach Expansion project, you can check it out here, and in that time, the project has really come along.
The Manhattan Beach Planning & Zoning has approved the new plans for the Manhattan Village development and the next step is going to the Manhattan Beach City Council to discuss all details in a September council meeting. If you would like to give any feedback to this process, it is most welcome at on the Village's website and you can express your likes or dislikes about the entire process. The MB City Council will be happy to hear all of your responses.
They have made a plan of 4 different components which include:
1. Refreshing the existing center in 2014
2. Village Shops placed in 2015 & 2016
3. Macy's Consolodation 2017
4. Gateway at the NorthWest Corner to be determined.
With these 4 main upgrades, the Manhattan Beach mall will have 123,000 sq ft of additional open-air retail space, and a dynamic mix of retail and dining. With many new Proposed Features and Amenities, the central plaza will be a great new experience. Check out some of the photos below for an idea of the new shopping space.
