Fiesta Hermosa In Hermosa Beach, CA

Fiesta Hermosa will be in full swing this weekend. Started in 1972 by the Chamber of Commerce, the art and music festival will feature over 300 artists and crafters. The festival takes place every Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend, insuring huge crowds and countless locals displaying their artwork.

There are “Best of Show” awards given out every year in tons of different categories. From artwork to handmade jewelry to clothing vendors set up along Hermosa Avenue, you won’t be at a loss of what to do. Don’t forget to also pack a beach towel because after all, you will only be a few steps from the sand!

The festival has two stages that will be set up. The main stage will be on the pier and the secondary stage will be located in the Charity Beer & Wine Garden. The food court will have 18 different kinds of food, sure to quench any thirst and satisfy any craving. If you’re going to be attending Fiesta Hermosa with your family, there will be a Kiddie Carnival set up with rides, rock climbing, slides and a petting zoo.

In years past, countless cover bands have filled the streets with the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Eagles to name a few. Both the local notoriety and statewide love of Fiesta Hermosa has helped transform the festival into “the largest arts & crafts fair in S. California.”

The Chamber also makes sure that the Fiesta is “green” with clean-burning biodiesel that’s made from used vegetable oil that’s donated from local restaurants. All of the food court vendors will be using compostable plates and cutlery, greatly diminishing the environmental footprint that would’ve been left otherwise. And finally, all of the glass and plastic containers will be recycled by Athens.

Fiesta Hermosa will take place on the 24th, 25th & 26th of May from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you’re a local and have the ability to bike down to the festival, there will be a Beach Bike Valet set up. There will also be a free shuttle bus running from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the days of the festival. The shuttle buses will be leaving from the Northrop Grumman Building.
